Swrve RTUP Destination

Use the Swrve Real-Time User Property destination (RTUP) to map audience or Blueprint columns directly to Swrve's real-time user properties, so that data is available for personalizing in-app messages built in Accelerator.

Why use RTUP instead of the standard Swrve Attributes destination

Swrve supports a special category of user property called a real-time user property (also called a real-time user attribute): a property Swrve keeps updated with no processing lag, making it usable for personalization in in-app messages the moment it's set. To personalize an in-app message built in Accelerator with a value like a first name or a loyalty tier, that data has to already exist in Swrve as a real-time property before the message is triggered.

Previously, getting data into Swrve as a real-time property meant using the general Swrve Attributes destination and separately knowing — outside of Accelerator — which of your Swrve attributes were configured for real-time use. RTUP removes that guesswork: it only surfaces the attributes already configured as real-time in Swrve, so you can't accidentally map to one that isn't.

For instructions on creating real-time user properties in the Swrve dashboard, see Manage user properties."

info

RTUP surfaces existing real-time attributes for mapping — it doesn't create or configure them in Swrve. An attribute must already be marked as a real-time user property in Swrve before it appears in the RTUP mapping list.

Prerequisites

  • An active Swrve account with API access, configured the same way as for the Swrve Attributes destination.
  • One or more attributes already configured as real-time user properties in the Swrve dashboard.
  • A MessageGears audience or Blueprint that includes Mobile User ID and the columns you want to map to real-time attributes.

Set up the RTUP destination

  1. In Accelerator, navigate to Segment > External > Create External Campaign.
  2. In the Destinations screen, select the Swrve RTUP destination.
  3. Map MobileUserId to the corresponding column in your audience data.
  • In some cases, you can use RecipientId as an alternative to MobileUserId
  1. Any attribute currently configured as a real-time user property in your Swrve app is listed here. For each one you want to populate, map it to the corresponding column in your audience or Blueprint.
  2. Select Create, then launch the External Campaign.

Use the synced data for personalization

Once real-time attributes are populated through RTUP, they're available in the personalization menu when building in-app message content — see Personalized dynamic content in the in-app message campaigns guide.
